What do locked and parked statuses mean?

Locked or Parked orders cannot be edited without being unlocked or unparked.

While an order is Parked, the items in the order continue to affect the available stock level calculations.
While an order is Locked, the items in the order do not affect the available stock level calculations. Locked orders will also display as greyed out in the Open Orders screen.

When are orders automatically locked or parked by the system?

  • Unpaid orders - All Unpaid orders are automatically set to Parked in the system to avoid them accidentally being processed until the payment status is updated. Channel orders will be automatically Unparked when they receive a payment update from the channel.

  • Orders in Fulfilment Centre location - When orders are downloaded/moved into an FC location, they are automatically:
    • Parked - if the Orders in fulfillment location affect stock level setting is enabled.
    • Locked and parked - if the Orders in fulfillment location affect stock level setting is disabled.

Full details on Fulfilment Centers available here.

  • Orders in Amazon FBA location - When orders are downloaded/moved into an Amazon FBA location, they are automatically locked and parked. Full details on FBA orders available here.

  • eBay PayPal Security check - eBay orders may be parked In an effort to identify orders where the seller PayPal email address has possibly been intercepted/tampered with. There will also be a respective note added to these orders if this is the case. Full details on the feature available here.

  • Shopify Fraud Risks - If the Download Order Fraud Risks setting is enabled in Shopify Channel settings, Linnworks will download the order fraud risks and park any order that has the recommendation to Investigate or Cancel.

  • Delivery address postcode is too long - If the delivery address postcode is too long (11 characters max), the the order will be parked. The order note will contain the following error message - Delivery address postcode was too long (11 max).

  1. Go to Orders > Open Orders.
  2. Select the orders you want to lock/unlock/park/unpark.
  3. Right-click on any of the select orders or click on the Actions button.
  4. Select Other Actions > Change Status > select the needed action of Lock/Unlock/Park/Unpark

In the old Open Orders screen:

  • Select the orders you want to lock/unlock/park/unpark.

  • Select the needed action of Lock Order (On-Hold)/Unlock Order (remove Hold)/Park Order/Unpark Order.

NB! In the old Open Orders screen, the Parked/Locked status has to be enabled in the view settings for it to be displayed with icons. Please see here on full details for working with the old Open Orders views.
An order cannot have a Tag added if it is Locked or Parked. If a tagged order is Parked, the tag is overwritten by the Parked icon. For Amazon Prime orders, it is recommended to use Identifiers that can be assigned through Settings > General Settings > Order Settings > Identifiers. Note that custom Identifiers are only visible in the new Open Orders screen even if the order is Parked or Locked. The Prime identifier will also display in the old screen.

Automatically unparking orders

In some cases, you may regularly have a lot of Parked orders in the system. For example, you may work with Unpaid orders a lot in a situation where your main payment method for your buyers is e.g. paying on delivery or collection. You can use the custom SourceUnpark application created by our team to automate unparking certain orders based on set conditions.

Please see this page on full details of the application, how to add and set it up.
