Note this is a channel-specific article only applicable to Amazon and Amazon Vendor channel integrations in Linnworks.

In March 2019, Amazon updated its privacy policy concerning how they handle Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This policy has now been extended to affect all Amazon integrators like Linnworks. To stay compliant, Linnworks is now required to remove all PII from Amazon orders 30 days after the order was shipped.

This means that 30 days after an Amazon or Amazon Vendor order has been marked as processed in Linnworks, Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in the below list will be removed from the Linnworks processed order:

  • First Name
  • Surname
  • Email Address
  • Phone Number
  • Shipping Address
  • Billing Address
  • Post/ZIP Code
  • Customer-facing Order Notes
  • Buyer VAT Number

Remember that although this data must be removed within 30 days, you can still export all your order data before it is removed. Still, it is then your responsibility to adhere to Amazon's data protection policies.

After 30 days from the processing date, Amazon orders will display the entry Redacted in the Processed Orders screen on the fields where the PII was removed.

In cases where you need to see details on the redacted orders, you can do this per single order:

  1. Double-click on the needed order.
  2. Click Yes on the popup.

This will retrieve the redacted information for 24 hours, after which the order PII fields will be redacted again.

NB! Retrieving redacted data can only be done for orders individually. Retrieving the data in bulk is impossible as it would go against Amazon PII policies. Please refer to Amazon Seller Central to retrieve order information in bulk.
