Linnworks allows you to issue both partial or full refunds. The whole process can be divided into two steps:


1. Issuing a Refund

A refund for each item is added separately. This allows doing a partial refund just for a selected item.


            To do a refund:

  • Find the order in the processed orders screen
  • Right-click > Action > Refunds
  • +Add Refund > specify amount and reason > Add
  • Save changes


2. Actioning a Refund

To action a refund go to Order Book > Returns & Refunds > Refunds > Action

If a refund is not actioned it will not appear in any refund-related reports.

Refunding an order in Linnworks does not automatically cancel the order on the channel it was created on. 

This needs to be done outside Linnworks, directly on the channel.


Exceptions to this rule include Amazon, Back Market and Shopify


Through the refunds functionality in Linnworks, you can also automatically issue either partial or full refund that is created directly on Amazon and Shopify. Order refunds first need to be enabled in Settings > Channel Integration > Edit Channel > Order:


The steps to issue a refund for these channels will be the same as normal, but with some additions:


  • Find the order in the processed orders
  • Right-click > Action > Refunds
  • +Add Refund > specify amount and reason > Add
  • Make sure the 'Submit refund to channel' option is ticked
  • Save changes


The refund  be actioned. Without this step, nothing will be sent to the channel.
