Following the introduction of the Windsor Framework, the current waiver scheme will end and new arrangements for parcels moving from Great Britain (GB) to Northern Ireland (NI) will take effect from 30 September 2024.

As part of the new arrangements agreed under the Windsor Framework, the existing UK Trader Scheme (UKTS) will be replaced, as of 30 September 2023, by a new UK Internal Market Scheme (UKIMS).

Summary of key changes:

• Shipper Responsibility
  
  If the Shipper is registered for the UKIMS, it must be supplied in the config. If no UKIMS number is provided, shipments will be treated as At Risk by couriers. UKIMS registration proves the shipper can handle Not At Risk items but does not guarantee every item qualifies.

The article will provide an overview of the required changes for each Shipping Integration.

Keep in mind that the article and changes will be published in advance, however, they will be ignored until the 30th of September due to no API support from the Vendor side.

Amazon Shipping

No changes are required. 

Amazon Shipping does not support B2B Orders. 

DHL Express 

New fields have been added to the DHL Express integration and properties, but will not be in use until 31 March 2025, or until we receive an update from the courier.

Keep in mind: Ensure the correct services are assigned to orders: all shipments going from GB to NI need to be shipped with a DOM (DOM - DHL Domestic Express) or DOT (DOT - DHL Domestic Express 12:00) service. 

DHL Parcel UK

New fields have been added to the DHL Parcel UK integration and properties, but will not be in use until 31 March 2025, or until we receive an update from the courier.

Keep in mind: The export reason is added as a Service setting for Parcel Neighbour 48Hrs. Service settings can be found in Shipping > Integrations > Services > Edit.

DPD UK and DPD Local

New fields have been added to the DPD integrations and will be sent to DPD if filled out. The details are not mandatory until 31 March 2025.

Keep in mind: Full customs details (Description, Commodity Codes, Country Of Origin, etc) will be supplied for both B2B and B2C Orders going from GB to NI, regardless if those are At Risk or not.

EVRi Corporate

No changes are required.

EVRi Corporate does not support B2B Orders. Only B2C Orders to NI can be sent with the courier.

EVRi Business

New fields have been added to the EVRi Business integration properties, but will not be in use until 31 March 2025, or until we receive an update from the courier.

Ensure that CommodityDescription and HsCode Extended Properties are populated and present in the Items Extended Properties. For Orders going to NI, this information will be submitted.

FedEx

New fields have been added to the FedEx integration and will be sent to FedEx if filled out. The details are not mandatory until 31 March 2025.

Keep in mind: Commercial Invoices will be printed for Orders from GB to NI if enabled, regardless of the ETD settings in the config.

GFS

New fields have been added to the GFS integration and will be sent to GFS if filled out. The details are not mandatory until 31 March 2025.

Royal Mail OBA and Royal Mail Tracked

New fields have been added to the Royal Mail Tracked integration and will be sent to Royal Mail if filled out. The details are not mandatory until 31 March 2025.

Royal Mail OBA integrations is not affected by this change, as only Royal Mail tracked 48 services will be used for B2B orders shipped to Northern Ireland.

Keep in mind: Export License expects either Y/Yes/True or N/No/False value. By default, the value N/No/False will be submitted if there is no Order Extended Property.

Only Royal Mail Tracked 48 can be used for B2B orders going from GB to NI (this validation is not enabled yet).

UPS

New fields have been added to the UPS integration and properties, but will not be in use until 31 March 2025, or until we receive an update from the courier.

Yodel

No changes are required.

Yodel does not support B2B Orders. Only B2C Orders to NI can be sent with the courier.

1. What is UKIMS and where can I get it?

UKIMS stands for UK Internal Market Scheme, which allows you to declare goods as Not At Risk if they are moving into NI. More details about UKIMS can be found here.

2. When will the UKIMS number be submitted to the courier?

If Shipper UKIMS is present in the config, the Order is B2B and the destination country is NI - Shipper UKIMS will be submitted.

If Recipient UKIMS is present in Order Extended Properties and the destination country is NI - Recipient UKIMIS will be submitted.

3. How are B2B Orders determined?

We will determine if this is a Business Order based on the presence of the Company Name on the Order. If Company Name is populated - the Order will be considered as B2B.

Also, if Recipient UKIMS is present in Order Extended Properties, the Order will be considered as B2B, and the Recipient UKIMS number will be submitted to the courier.
