Problem
I have tried printing a UPS shipping label and am seeing an error returned:
Missing or Invalid Vendor Collection ID Number.
Solution
The error message indicates that Vendor Collection ID (IOSS or VOEC Number) is either not present or incorrectly entered on the Order or in the config settings.
Two possible solutions are available below:
- IOSS Order
The error message indicates that IOSS Order* is missing or has an incorrect Marketplace IOSS number Order Extended Property.
*From the 1st of July, 2021, new EU VAT legislation requires online marketplaces to collect and declare the VAT paid on goods entering the EU valued at less than 150 EUR. To inform couriers that the marketplace has collected this tax, marketplaces must attach an IOSS number to every order that meets these criteria.
- If Order Extended Property is missing
To fix this, you would need to add Marketplace IOSS number Order Extended Property to the Order following the steps below:
Go to Shipping > Integrations > Properties > double-check to which Linnworks Order Extended Property Marketplace IOSS number is linked:
Go back to Orders > Open Orders New > right-click on the Order in question > View Order > Edit > Properties > Extended Properties > add Marketplace IOSS number with the correct value and Type as Attribute. Save changes and print label once more.
- If Order Extended Property is present
If the IOSS Order Extended Property is already present, double-check that the IOSS number is 12 digits long. If the IOSS number is shorter or longer, you need to adjust it to 12 digits and print once more.
- If the IOSS Number config value is used
If you do not use Order Extended Properties, but submit IOSS Number information from Shipping > Integrations > config > then double-check that IOSS Registration Number in the Account Details is present and also 12 digits long. - Order going to Norway
Order going to Norway requires a VOEC Number to be submitted.
To fix this, you would need to add the Marketplace Tax id number Order Extended Property to the Order following the steps below:
Go to Shipping > Integrations > Properties > double-check to which Linnworks Order Extended Property Marketplace Tax Id number is linked:
Go back to Orders > Open Orders New > right-click on the Order in question > View Order > Edit > Properties > Extended Properties > add Marketplace Tax id number with the correct value and Type as Attribute. Save changes and print label once more.
