Problem

We need to declare dangerous goods when printing DHL Express shipping labels

Solution

There are various attributes required to be sent to DHL Express when declaring dangerous goods. These attributes need to be added to order item extended properties. Please note that if you are sending a composite item, properties would need to be added to the child items only.

List of required properties:

Content ID - this is a 3 digit number that specifies the Class of the dangerous goods

Contents - short description of what the item is

UN Code - UN code is only required for specific Content ID classes

Please note!

- Type for all properties needs to be set as 'Attribute'

- If you are shipping dangerous goods with class ID8000 - Content ID would need to be sent as 900 (Class 9 Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods)

- Values for all of the above attributes may be clarified with your DHL Express account manager.
