Tracking URLs are essential for monitoring shipment statuses. These links direct you to the Courier's website, where you can view updates about your package, including current location and estimated delivery time.


How Tracking URLs work in Linnworks:


  1. Supported Channels: Tracking URLs are sent to channels that support them. Refer to the FAQ section for a list of supported channels.

  2. Clickable Hyperlinks: After an Order is processed, the Tracking Number appears as a clickable hyperlink in the Processed Orders screen. This feature is available only if the courier is listed in the Supported Shipping Vendors.

  3. Vendor Name: Linnworks compares the Vendor Name from the Shipping > Postal Services screen with the Supported Shipping Vendors list to generate a Tracking URL.

  4. Despatch Emails: Tracking URLs can be included in the despatch emails. For more details, check Linnworks documentation

Frequently asked questions


1. Do I need to format the Vendor name in a specific way?


The Vendor name is taken from the Shipping > Postal Services screen, converted to uppercase, and special characters or spaces are removed.

For example, if the Vendor is written as "Inpost", it will be converted internally to "INPOST" to generate the Tracking URL.


2.  Are Tracking URLs sent to all channels with despatch notes?


No, Tracking URLs are supported only by these channels: Catch, EKMPowershop, Octopia, Shopify, and WooCommerce. Other channels receive only the Vendor, Service Name, and Tracking Number.


3.  Where can I check Tracking URLs?


Go to Orders > Processed Orders > double-click on the Order > click on the Tracking Number > you will be redirected to the website for tracking information.
