For your inventory items, you can either set an item-based tax rate or mark it to use the Country specific rate which is taken from the Countries list based on the order destination country.

The item tax rate can be viewed and edited manually and one by one in Inventory > My Inventory > click on the SKU > Product Details > General > Tax.



To add a Tax value to your items in bulk:

  1. Create a CSV file with the SKU and Tax columns.

  2. List the SKUs you want to update. You can use e.g. Stock Item (no levels) report in Query Data to retrieve a list of all SKUs in your inventory.

  3. Add the needed numeric values to the Tax column - do not include the % symbol.

  4. Run an Inventory Import with the CSV file.

  5. Any SKUs in the CSV will now be updated with the Tax rates specified in the file.


To tick the Country specific rate box for your items in bulk:

  1. Create a CSV file with the SKU and Tax columns.
  2. List the SKUs you want to update. You can use e.g. Stock Item (no levels) report in Query Data to retrieve a list of all SKUs in your inventory.

  3. Add the value -1 to the Tax column.

  4. Run an Inventory Import with the CSV file.

  5. Any SKUs in the CSV with the Tax column value -1 will now have the Country specific rate option ticked.
