Some Shipping Couriers offer the option to use Insurance for your shipment, which can also be enabled/specified in the Courier Integration in Linnworks.


Below is a list of Courier Integrations created by Linnworks, which currently support using insurance, where and which settings/additional details need to be provided for it to be applied and links to the full documentation regarding the specific Courier option.


  • DHL Express
    Insurance can be requested by enabling the respective setting under each required service under Shipping > Integrations > DHL Express > Services > Edit > Shipment Insurance.

  • DHL Parcel UK
    Extended cover units may be selected in each required service settings under Shipping > Integrations > DHL Parcel UK > Services > Edit > Extended Cover.
    The numeric entry relates to £1000's of additional cover (1 – £1000, 2 - £2000).

  • DPD UK and DPD Local
    Extended Liability setting can be enabled in each required service settings under Shipping > Integrations > DHL Express > Services > Edit > Extended Liability.
    Details for this option need to be confirmed with DPD directly.

  • FedEx
    to specify Insurance for FedEx shipments, Insured Value Amount and Insured Value Currency need to be added as Extended Properties to either the items directly or to the Order. These Extended Properties need to be then correctly mapped to the respective fields in Shipping > Integrations > FedEx > Properties.

  • Endicia
    Insurance level and value can be specified in each required service settings under Shipping > Integrations > Endicia > Services > Edit > Insurance.

  • Parcelforce
    Enhanced Compensation level can be selected in each required service settings under Shipping > Integrations > Parcelforce > Services > Edit > EnhancedCompensation.

    Insurance type can be selected in each required service settings under Shipping > Integrations > Stamps.com > Services > Edit > Service Addons.

    Insurance Charges value can be added as an order Extended Property. These Extended Properties need to be then correctly mapped to the respective fields in Shipping > Integrations > UPS> Properties.
