Problem
I list to multiple selling platforms which have different requirements for the product identifiers, however, when listing from Linnworks I can only work with the one barcode field. The result of this is that I can not list to all of my selling platforms through Linnworks this way.
Solution
In addition to the Barcode field in Product Details, there are two other ways to add Product Identifiers to your inventory items, which can then be mapped accordingly in your eBay configurations for listing creation:
Product Identifiers
All item Product Identifiers are visible in Inventory > My Inventory > (click on the SKU) Product Details > Product Identifiers tab. This tab also enables you to add and edit any Product Identifier to the item one by one. Please see the respective Product Identifiers documentation for full details on the tab and how to add the values.
You can also add Product Identifiers in bulk by using the specified Product Identifiers import. To add more than one Product Identifier type to one SKU, the SKU should be added in the CSV on two lines, with each having its own Product Identifier type and value.
Extended Properties
All item Extended Properties are visible in Inventory > My Inventory > (click on the SKU) Product Details > Extended Properties tab. This tab also enables you to add any Extended Property to the item one by one. Please see the respective Extended Properties documentation for full details.
You can also add Extended Properties in bulk by using either a regular Inventory Import with specifics for the Extended Properties configuration given here or by using the My Inventory Drag&Drop import for Extended properties as specified here. Please keep in mind that the Extended Property type for Product IDs should always be Attribute.
Mapping the correct field
Once you have added the needed Product Identifiers to your items with one of the above methods, you can specify in the eBay Configurator Main settings which value the Barcodes should be taken from. This field is specific to each configurator, so each marketplace can have its own barcode field specified separately.
When there is no Extended Property specified in this field or if the specified Extended Property does not exist on the item you are listing, the value will automatically be taken from the Barcode field in Inventory > My Inventory > (click on the SKU) Product Details > General tab > Barcode field.
a) If you choose to use Linnworks Product Identifiers for the barcode values, the Extended Property for barcode should be mapped with a value from the list that starts with ProductIdentifier. e.g. ProductIdentifier.EAN.
b) If you choose to use Extended Properties, the Extended Property for barcode should be mapped with the name of the respective Extended Property name you have added to your inventory items.
