Please note this is a channel-specific article only applicable to Magento 1 and Magento 2.
Problem
When we try to create a configurator for Magento channel, the categories list won't load anything from the Magento backend.
Solutions:
a) First try to refresh the configurators with data from the channel.
- Select the required configurator(s).
- Click on the Cogwheel icon on the upper right in the Configurators screen.
- For Magento 1: Select Refresh channel.
For Magento 2: Select Refresh categories.
b) If the categories are still not appearing, check on your Magento backend if the Root Category defined in your Store page matches the Root Category defined in your Catalog page:
Magento 1:
System > Manage Stores > Store Name the root category has to match the root category in Catalog > Manage Categories.
Magento 2:
Stores > All Stores > Store the root category has to match the root category in Catalog > Categories.
