Stock Check / Counting - How do you do it??

Hi Everyone,

We are really struggling to find a time effective way to be able to check the qty's of stock. This is our process:

Open my inventory
Scan barcode
check stock of item (update if needs be)
Select the scanned barcode and delete ready for a new scan

I know this doesn't seem like much but it's very time consuming when we have nearly 4000 different sku's.

The 'stock count' window in linn desktop was awesome, but it seems this plus a load of other very basic functionality (analytics/re order low stock) have been totally forgotten in linn.net!

Thanks

Will

Hello Will,

In regards to Analytics and Reorder Low Stock - this is something that is being actively worked on and is expected to be released for Linnworks.net soon as well. I don't have any ETA on this yet I'm afraid as these are parts of quite a massive update and a rework of the Purchase Order module, so we have to be sure it will function properly.

In regards to the Stock Check and counting

I do get that Linnworks.net doesn't have a module for this, however perhaps it would be easier to use our reporting tool - Dashboards > Query Data > Query Type: Stock Items with levels.

This way you will get a .csv file with all of your stock level for a selected location. On that file you should be able to simply compare the stock levels that you have in your Inventory with what is actually in the warehouse.

Once you adjust the stock levels in the file you can feel free to simply import it using Inventory Import or Stock Level Import, which will overwrite your stock levels in bulk: https://www.linnworks.com/support/settings/import-and-export-data/import-data/import-types/inventory-import Or https://www.linnworks.com/support/settings/import-and-export-data/import-data/import-types/stock-level

There never seems to be an ETA for these updates, we all get pretty tired of hearing that 'it's coming soon' or 'it's just around the corner'. Let's be honest these could take years to complete, and its the most BASIC of functionality! Please do something about it, we have moved to a monthly subscription and are starting to look around at other software. I really like LW, but the .net version seems like such a backwards step. All I want is more specified dates as to when things will get done, and just the basic functionality of desktop in .net! Not to much to ask is it?

Hi Will

Totally concur - seems we work on workarounds.

Now we dont use BIN Locations so what we do is send out a few peeps. Once they have checked they will update the Bin to for example ZZAM. We will then find all that do not have this bin location and try to find manually

Bit crappy but make do with what we have

Thanks

We use stockwise one of the integrated apps and that works well especially for mixed bin locations.

Mark - are you having any issues with Stockwise at the moment? crashing with a critical error?

It seems like you guys have a similar warehouse sku count, so pardon the interruption:

Are you guys using Bin/Rack Location to dictate the way your warehouse is organized?

Our warehouse is growing, and we are having trouble using Bin/Rack as the order scheme without some type of Stock In List(like Pick List for Inbound stock instead of outbound stock) to figure out where the stuff goes:

Would really appreciate any solution you've tried with LW.  Thanks.

Hi everyone,

Have you checked out HyperStock for Stock Control? It is available for both iOS and Android
