Export combined stock quantities

Would be grateful to be able to export a "total stock level" of an SKU for all warehouse locations rather than having each warehouse location on a separate line. Hopefully some support for this ☺

Due to the nature of this kind of data the potential load can be extremely heavy when implemented as an automated report.

For example if you have 100,000 items and 10 locations the this results in checking 1,000,000 records to retrieve the combined levels for the items.

If you then put this on an automated export running every 10 minutes I am sure you can image the potential unwanted load this can have and therefore the impact on your database.

These is the basis for the logic in not adding this to the automated exports

However it is possible to retrieve this data on an Adhoc basis via the following method

  • Dashboards > Query Data
  • Select Stock Levels - Combined as the query type
  • Click Generate Report
  • Click Download CSV  to save a local copy of this data

I have been trying to achieve this as well for an integration with FLUBit.

It seems to me that as there is already a location called "Combined stock" that this data already exists in this location.  So if it was possible for this location to be exported this would achieve the result.

Is this not the case?

How is data in the Combined stock location handled if a user goes to this location and browses the inventory.  Surely the data base cannot be adding the stock up all the time at each view?
