We have no blue symbol!!
Thanks, I was halfway through sorting this then the LW server went down, 2nd time this week. Couldn't work the rest of the afternoon. They say patience is a virtue ;)
Thanks for the thread, I didn't realise the 2D information was available, I was waiting for Royal Mail. I have had a few packages go missing this week sent by RM24/48.
I just tried the manifest with the new RM integration with a test order. It takes me to .net but all of the manifest buttons are greyed out. If I click on my desktop old OBA manifest I get the manifest with the order. Very strange process. Maybe 24/7 support will come in handy ;)
Hi Furhan, I've discovered you have to set up a new RM integration on .net and then the labels must be printed to the new integrated services (so basically like setting it up from scratch). It imports the settings into desktop but it doesn't work the other way around. Its a pain and it means we have to change everything, our rules engine and our scripts etc. If LW just took the hint and added the code to desktop none of us would have to go through this rigmarole.
And wasn't it nice of them to tell us at last, we have all been kept in the dark not knowing that the information was available. I wonder if the .net users even know?
As delivery confirmation is now being switched on, parcels first and large letters later it is essential that the number required to access this service is available in desktop. I really don't think it is good enough to say use linnworks.net. For many of us linnworks.net is not a viable option it's too slow and would slow our daily processes down significantly. It really can't be a difficult for linnworks to make this change for us.
It seems the only reason to withold this feature from desktop is a futile attempt to increase conversion to .net. None of us who push volume through linnworks can make that switch until .net is as fast and as complete as linnworks desktop. .Net is not ready to handle volume at the speed we need.
Come on Linnworks, implement this is desktop
Hello everyone,
Thank you for all your comments.
The only thing that is missing in .net integration - is 'Default Weight' option. I've been previously told we can not implement it, as Royal Mail asked us to stay away from default weights and submit the most accurate data possible.
So my solution to the problem would be either implementing additional 'DataMatrix' column in desktop version of manifest screen, or adding a similar to 'Default Weight' option to .net (manifest screen in .net should be optimized as well, ideally we would need to add 'Search' option).
Logging 'Eye Readable Matrix' in order Tracking Number field, would be nice as well, but this would be a complex development project, so we have to make the needed data accessible in the first place.
I've submitted a development request with all those points on Friday, so I'll let you all know what solution our development team will come up with.
As for now, if you've got any parcels missing, or just want to get a list of DataMatrixes, please create tickets in Shipping Support category, I'll be glad to send you the files.
Thanks for the reply Olga. From my side, making the DataMatrix available on desktop would be perfect (as we need some additional functionality which is currently in desktop but not in LW.net). Not sure how this is stored, but could there be a Query written which can be accessed from Dashboard->QueryData?
Unfortunately, DataMatrixes are stored in a different database, which can not be reached from Query Data.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I already have the blue royal mail .net option in shipping vendor which links to .net when manifest is clicked.
I have raised a support ticket to guide me as I don't know what I am doing wrong.
I've got hold of lots of these codes (Thanks Olga!) but not one that I've tried shows up anything on the Royal Mail site.
Is there a particular location I'm meant to be entering it?
Thanks!
It appears that I am not using the integration properly with desktop. As I don't have weights/sizes for all of the items, I just file the manifest and update the correct details on OBA then print the paperwork from there.
In another post, it says that all items must have correct weight as once filed the manifest cannot be changed. I don't have all the items stored correctly or the package format. Is there a way around this so that I can file the manifest and get the package data?

I've asked this question before but not getting the answers i'm looking for or any real understanding of the question!
So to break it down - RM added the barcode system months ago (the square squigly code) - it prints out on all our labels no problems there. Now I know this is not full tracking and is for 'proof of delivery' only on items that are just sent via 24 and 48 letter/large letter/parcel etc. HOWEVER unless the barcode number is recorded in the tracking box it is still useless as we cannot access the proof of delivery information or provide it to the channel/customer.
So when is it going to become a useable 'tracking' option with the numbers recorded on LW and sent to Ebay/Amazon? We were told early 2016, then Spring, then Summer......
