These changes are in response to the EU abolishing the EUR 150 customs duty exemption for low-value parcels, effective 1 July 2026. A flat-rate EUR 3 duty per item category will apply to consignments valued below EUR 150 shipped from non-EU countries to EU consumers. From 1 November 2026, Product Identifiers (PIDs) will also become mandatory on customs declarations for B2C distance sales into the EU.

For a full overview of the regulation changes and what sellers need to prepare, see the EU Customs Changes FAQ.

Product Identifiers (PIDs)

From 1 November 2026, three product identifiers are required on customs declarations for B2C sales into the EU. The following item extended properties are used across supported integrations to submit this data:

  • ItemSku - Merchant Product Identifier (M-PID). If not provided, the Linnworks SKU will be used.
  • NonStandardMidCode - Non-Standardised Manufacturer Product Identifier (NS-PID). The manufacturer, producer or product supplier's own product code.
  • ProductMidCode - Standardised Manufacturer Product Identifier (S-PID). A globally recognised code such as a GTIN or EAN, where one exists.

Not all integrations support all three properties. See each carrier section below for details.

The article below provides an overview of the changes being made to each affected shipping integration. It will be kept up to date as further updates are released.
