Scanning on despatch console using edge browser misses about 1 in 4 scans and fails to pop up window

Even though order processing seems a lot faster using edge on .net when scanning it keeps missing the barcode and failing to pop up the order window. Its almost as though its slightly too fast because the field is auto populated with data. For this purpose I have to keep using chrome as this never occurs using it however would prefer to use edge because of the speed.
