option to email buyers from orders

the ability to right click any order and have an 'email' option to contact the buyer, preferably using editable email templates

when is this CRM development work happening...
it seems to have been planned for years now...
I mentioned it in a recent ticket and the member of staff wasn't even aware of any planned developments...
Any clues as to what the features / improvements will be also?
The functionality is implemented.

Mailshots are are created to a set format. We would like the option for to email customers from within orders using free text not custom mailshot.
