Default Item weight in Royal Mail OBA Integration

HI,

We recently had a new Royal Mail OBA integration with Linnworks. Previously we had an option to change the Default Item Weight of shipment that could be set in each service of Royal Mail individually, however, with our new integration we only see the option of Service Level and not the Default Weight setting.  Is there any other mechanism to set the default weight for RM services?

We have made an Invoice template and set the Royal Mail Recorded service in the order and we keep getting the error message.  "Label package sequence no is 0 Weight is 0"

ES

Hello,

New Royal Mail integration has no option to set default weights, as Royal Mail asked us to stay away from default weights and submit the most accurate data possible.

In order to avoid errors, you will need to assign weight to all your Linnworks SKUs. As a workaround, weight can be entered manually in despatch console prior to printing label.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply, I was able to generate the label with your instructions.  That is interesting to know that RM does not want this option.  What if we use Linnworks only for order management and not for Inventory management?  Also is there any way to set the open order weight in Bulk since its quite a work to do with Dispatch Manager for each order one by one?

Further more if we set the weight of item in Linnworks inventory and list the item on ebay using the linnlive functionality, how can we set the weight information since we do not have name in the specification part of the channel configuration?

Hello,

We don't really have any other workarounds, other than processing orders via despatch console. However, we can add Royal Mail integration to your desktop app if you do not mind using it for label printing.

Weight is submitted for items with calculated shipping automatically, with no need to map it to any attribute.

Hi Olga,

Thank you for your message.  Can you please let me know how can I add the Royal Mail Integration to the Desktop app?  I believe that it shall resolve the problem.

Thanks

Hello,

Apologies for delayed response! I've added a desktop integration for your account and emailed all the integration details to your main account email.

Please make sure at least one service remains mapped to the integration, otherwise it will disappear from the list.

Hi Olga,

Thank you for your message.  I received the settings for OBA Desktop integration and put these settings in the application and initially it worked find.  After a while I restarted the Linnworks desktop application and found that the OBA integration is not there anymore.  I can only see the web-based integration with the Blue icon only.

Hi Linnworks

We have been advised to integrate via .NET instead of desktop in order to support 2D delivery confirmation.

We use default weight as we also use the batch pilot to process all of our Royal Mail.

Now though we cannot use batch pilot as weight is required.

If default weight is allowed on the desktop app why should this be a problem on .NET?

Data is transferred to Royal Mail using the same Account login details?
