Do I need to re-authenticate my Shopify connection?

No. The upgrade is seamless; no re-authentication or reconnection required.

Will my existing orders in Linnworks be affected?

No. Only orders downloaded after the upgrade use the new format; anything already in Linnworks stays exactly as it is.

How do I know if I'm on the new GraphQL integration yet?
If you can see the new settings: “Split Orders by Shopify Fulfillments”, “Use Presentment Currency”, “Deduct Stock for Fulfilled POS Orders”, “Use Avalara for Tax Calculations” in your Shopify integration, you're on GraphQL.

Can I go back to the old REST integration if I need to?
If you're considering this, contact support first so we can look at your specific setup and advise on the safest path.

Does this upgrade affect inventory sync or stock levels?
No. The upgrade affects order download, fulfilment handling, refunds, and cancellations; inventory sync and stock level management work the same way they do today.

Are my product listings affected?
No. Listings aren't changed by this upgrade.

What does "Split Orders by Shopify Fulfillments" do?
It controls whether Shopify orders with multiple fulfillments are saved as one order in Linnworks or as separate orders per fulfilment.

The setting defaults to OFF, so your orders will behave the same way they did before the upgrade. (Full explanation with examples is already in the article's settings section).

How does presentment currency work?
Once "Use Presentment Currency" is switched ON, orders download in whatever currency the buyer actually paid at checkout, rather than your shop's base currency. It's a per-integration setting, off by default

POS-specific

My POS orders stopped auto-processing after the upgrade; what happened?
POS order handling changed with the upgrade.

Make sure your POS orders are marked as fulfilled on Shopify (Shopify's guide on fulfilling POS orders for instructions), "Download Processed Orders" is enabled, and the “stock deduction” setting matches how you want stock handled.

If these aren't reviewed, POS orders will still download but will sit unprocessed until you do. (Full explanation with examples is already in the POS article's settings section).

Other

The reference number in Linnworks isn't the order number my customer sees, why?
Linnworks has always stored Shopify's internal order ID as the Reference Number rather than the customer-facing order name. This is long-standing behaviour, not something introduced by the upgrade.

Why did my order reference numbers suddenly get longer?
This only happens if you've turned on "Split Orders by Shopify Fulfillments."

With that setting ON, Linnworks appends the fulfilment ID to the order ID so each fulfilment stays traceable, which makes the reference longer. If this causes friction with another system matching on the old format (for example, a 3PL), turning the setting OFF restores it.

I refunded an order (or processed a return) directly in Shopify; why doesn't it show in Linnworks?
This is how Linnworks has always worked; it isn't something the upgrade changes.

Refunds only sync outward: they need to be raised in Linnworks to reach Shopify. A refund or return started directly in Shopify (including POS partial or full refunds) won't appear in Linnworks, update order status, or restock.

My refund to Shopify didn't go through; why?
Return and refund options aren’t affected by the upgrade.

The most common cause for a refund not to go through is that an item was added to the order after it downloaded into
Linnworks, so there's no matching Shopify line item to refund against. It can also happen if a line item was deleted and re-added in Linnworks, which loses the link back to the original Shopify line item.

What about order cancellations?
How cancellations work won’t be affected by the upgrade, as cancellations made in Linnwroks should be reflected in Shopify, and a cancellation made in Shopify is expected to sync through to Linnworks automatically. If you cancel an order in Shopify and don't see it reflected in Linnworks, contact support so we can take a look.

How are import duties handled after the upgrade, and could they affect my customs declarations?
Import duties collected by Shopify can download into Linnworks as a service line item on the order; this is new behaviour with the upgrade (duties weren't downloaded at all previously). Whether this happens is controlled by the "Download Duties as a Service Item" setting: off by default for most integrations moving over now, so in most cases nothing changes.

If you do have this setting on and you export orders to ShipStation, be aware that a duty service line can be picked up as a physical item. Check the "Export service items" setting in your ShipStation configuration and switch it off if you don't want service items, including duties, included on customs forms.

Macros and custom integrations

My macro, export, or custom integration stopped working after the upgrade; what should I do?
This is likely due to the order XML format change that comes with every upgrade: field names change from PascalCase to camelCase, and some fields move or are renamed. Review your macro or integration configuration and update the field references. If Linnworks built the customization for you, contact support, and we'll update it on your behalf.
