Problem

I have tried printing a Deutsche Post shipping label and am seeing an error returned:

items[0].contents[0].contentPieceDescription: size must be between 1 and 33

Solution

Unless there is a separate item extended property for customs description, the inventory item's title will be submitted as the parcel's content description. The above error means that the title does not exist, or exceeds 33 characters.

To fix this, you would need to check the following steps below:

• Case 1: No Item Extended Property, Item Title is used
  
  Go to Inventory > My Inventory > click on the SKU in question > double-check how many characters the Item Title has. If there is no title or it is longer than 33 characters - amend the Item Title and Save the changes. After that, try to print the label anew.
  
  
• Case 2: Item Extended Property is present
  
  Go to Shipping > Integrations > Properties > double-check to which Linnworks Item Extended Property CommodityDescription is linked.
  
  
  Go back to Inventory > My Inventory > click on the SKU in question > Extended Properties > make sure that CommodityDescription is added with the correct value and Type as Attribute. Save changes and try to print the label anew.
