Scenario
Amazon introduced a One-Time Passcode (OTP) feature for Secure Delivery. Can it be configured in Linnworks?
Solution
The OTP Secure Delivery feature ensures packages are delivered safely by requiring the delivery associate (DA) to enter a 6-digit passcode before marking the package as delivered. This reduces the chance of delivery errors.
Currently, OTP is only available for Non-Amazon (Off-Amazon) packages shipped via Amazon Shipping for countries like the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, and India. More details can be found here.
The main set up needs to be done on the Amazon side.
From the Linnworks side, set up the Insured Value in the Amazon Shipping config and if the value meets the OTP threshold, Secure Delivery is applied.
Insured Value Types | Explanation |
Custom Value | The amount can be set in the Custom Insured Value field. Enter a numeric amount, including 0. |
Automatic | The Order value or maximum known insurance limit is automatically used. |
How to set up the Insured Value
- At the Integration Level (applies to all Shipping Services in the integration):
- Go to Shipping > Integrations > Config for the Amazon Shipping integration.
- Scroll to the Insured Value section.
- Specify the Insured Value for all Shipping Services in this integration. - At the Service Level (useful if different Services require unique values that will be prioritised):
- Go to Shipping > Integrations > Edit Services for the Amazon Shipping integration.
- Edit the specific Service.
- Specify the Insured Value for the selected Shipping Service.
