Starting December 13, 2024, the European Union's updated General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) takes effect. This change requires adding GPSR information to Amazon listings, helping ensure product safety and compliance across EU markets.
Note: GPSR information is required for products shipped or sold in EU-based countries or Northern Ireland. |
Full information on how to comply with the new General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is provided by Amazon in this guide.
Important! Linnworks does not determine which specific attributes are required for your items. We only provide a technical solution to send the necessary attributes to your Amazon listings. If you are unsure about the required attributes for your items, please contact Amazon for guidance. |
Updating listings with GPSR information via Linnworks
You can add the required GPSR information to your Amazon listings via Linnworks using two methods.
Method 1
Any information unique to different items/listing templates must be mapped to an Extended Property (EP) name. This method involves three main steps:
- Updating the necessary items with the required extended properties (EPs).
- Applying the EPs as attributes in the corresponding Amazon configurators.
- Revising listing templates.
See below for a detailed explanation of each step.
Method 2
Any information common across all templates for the given configurator can be entered in the Default Value column. For full details, refer to Step 2 (sub-step 4) in this article.
Step 1. Updating the necessary items with the required EPs
This step requires you to update the items you are selling in EU-based countries or Northern Ireland with the EPs that include the GPSR information Amazon requires for such listings.
There are two main types of EPs to add:
- Compliance attributes: These include general information, such as responsible person, safety, and manufacturer details.
- Compliance Media attributes: These include links (URLs) to your regulatory documents.
Compliance attributes
Below is the list of the attributes that Amazon requires for the listing. These should be added in Linnworks as EPs. You can use the Inventory Import to update your items with the required EPs in bulk, or you can manually add EPs to the items.
- Note: You can apply Default Values to the required listing attributes. In this case, you do not need to update each individual item with the extended properties, as all listings will use the same values. For full details, refer to Step 2 (sub-step 4) in this article.
The list of required attributes to be added as EPs:

Here is an example of an item updated with the above EPs:
Step 2. Applying the EPs as attributes in the configurator
Once you have updated the necessary items with the required EPs, you need to link them to the appropriate attributes in the Amazon configurators.
- Open the Amazon Configurators screen by going to Settings > Configurators > Amazon.
- Open the Attributes screen for the required configurator.
- All the compliance attributes listed above are available for selection in Amazon Configurator > Attributes under the Available Attributes section.
- Map all required attributes to the corresponding EPs.
- Note: You can also apply Default Values to these attributes in the configurator. In this case, you do not need to update each individual item with the required EPs, as all listings will use the same values.
Step 3. Revise Listing Templates in Linnworks to update listings on Amazon
Once the EPs are imported/manually added to the required items and linked to the appropriate attributes or required default values are specified, revise the configurator. This will automatically update all listings assigned to it and send the GPSR information to Amazon.
